Jackson Filmed 'Breaking Dawn' With Broken Rib

Jackson Rathbone (“Jasper Hale” in the Twilight Saga) has been doing a lot of press lately, which is a great thing of course, and the latest interview comes from Lite Rock 99.3 from Brevard. Through the discussion, Rathbone issued a few updates about The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.
“It’s been a fun shoot so far. We’re about halfway through the process . . . It was a lovely time being in Baton Rouge,” he explained, gushing about his good luck in having family in the area to provide him delicious home-cooked meals on his off-time.
He also talked about the progression of the Twilight films in quality over the course of the Saga.
“I think each film just keeps getting better and better, you know, with the different slate of directors we’ve had, and now we have the amazing Bill Condon, and he’s been a dream to work with. So, I think this is going to be the best one,” he said. “There’s some very exciting moments in the film that Melissa Rosenberg our amazing screenwriter and Bill Condon, our wonderful director, kind of put together to kind of showcase the highlights of this film and to bring the book to life.”
As for doing his own stunts in Breaking Dawn, as he does in most of his movies, he explained that he did so even with a broken rib. Apparently, he was carrying “a bunch of gear” while working with his band, 100 Monkeys, and he tripped on some wires and cracked his rib, but he kept it a secret from the crew so as to still be able to do the stunt-work for the film. “It was painful, but it was worth it.”

Jackson Rathbone Dishes on Sex Scenes in Breaking Dawn

Jackson Rathbone talks to E! about Breaking Dawn and sex scenes...

"It's definitely sexy,"

"It definitely qualifies as shmexaaay."

"It's a PG-13 movie, but also it is what it is and it's a union," Rathbone said. "They are consummating their relationship and they don't just do it once, let's put it that way."

"Oh yeah," he laughed. "It sizzles, man. It sizzles like bacon!"

Jackson Rathbone excited for 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' and Bill Condon

While on the set of his new project Aim High, Jackson Rathbone spoke to MovieWeb about his forthcoming work on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (video attached).
According to Rathbone, he's been going back and forth between Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Los Angeles, California, and he has had the opportunity to meet and speak with director Bill Condon about the films.
We met in Baton Rouge earlier this month. We’ve been kind of going back and forth between Baton Rouge and Los Angeles. They just started filming, they finished the South American portion of filming already. I go back to Baton Rouge here in two days, so then I’ll be getting back into the works and getting vampire-d out, not having blood on me but being kind of blood-thirsty.
Rathbone also admitted he and his Twilight castmates will be enjoying playing catch-up on the set of the fourth and fifth Twilight film.
Every time we get back together for another Twilight film, it’s a family reunion. You know, these are artists and kids that I’ve grown up with over the past three or four years now. I mean, it’s been a while, so every time we get back together it’s exciting to see where everyone’s been, what they’ve done with their career, what they’ve done with their lives. It’s sad to see the end coming, but at the same time it’s very rewarding that we’ve been able to be a part of a series that’s touched the lives of countless people. It’s really exciting.
Jackson Rathbone also talked about how he is excited about moving forward with Bill Condon for the last two (while not downgrading the work of former directors Catherine Hardwicke, Chris Weitz, and David Slade).
We always like to step it up. I think that’s the motto of any artist: never be satisfied always try to step it up. I think that’s what we’ve achieved with the Twilight films. Not to say that Twilight the original wasn’t good . . . Are you kidding? That movie was beautiful, and it set a certain tone, and what Chris Weitz brought to New Moon kind of elaborated on that. Then, what David Slade brought to Eclipse was a darker, more visceral side. I mean, each director has brought their own tonality, their own landscape ideas for these particular films. So now we’re with Bill Condon and the last two, and it’s really exciting. I’ve been a fan of his since like Gods And Monsters, you know, his early work, so to be working with them, to be meeting with him and talking with him about this is extremely exciting.
The interview was published two days ago, so presumably Rathbone is in Baton Rouge carrying out these plans at this very moment!

Jackson Is Cutest Because of His Southern Charm!

According to the LSU newspaper, it seems like the atmosphere in Baton Rouge is allowing the actors to go out and enjoy the town.  For the first two movies, this was very much what the actors were able to do in Portland and Vancouver; granted, with being asked for some pictures and autographs along the way. Starting with Eclipse, however, they were virtual prisoners in their hotel rooms with constant hounding by the paparazzi. They almost never went out without a full security escort.
“”Breaking Dawn” cast member Jackson Rathbone — has been performing every Tuesday, said Eric LeBlanc, manager at Boudreaux and Thibodeaux’s.
“The crowds have been huge on Tuesdays,” LeBlanc said.
Rathbone and 100 Monkeys were at the Baton Rouge State Fair this past weekend to film a music video, according to J.H. Martin, the State Fair’s CEO and chairman.
“Because Jackson is in the movie, they have been hanging around Baton Rouge,” Martin said. “We did see an increase in people crowding around the stage when they started playing.”
Martin said the band was a pleasure to meet.
“The ladies might think [Jackson's] the cutest because of his Southern charm,” Martin said. “They were super nice young men.”
While the production team for 100 Monkeys was filming the music video, some of the patrons started to notice, Martin said.
“We did a shot in the back by the bumper cars, and we had to get two security guards to make sure nothing got out of hand,” Martin said. “If somebody spots one, they tell the world about it on Twitter and Facebook.”
